Fun with Costumes

These amazing costumes are from Turkey. The colors and patterns are so beautiful. Just goes to show that playing dress up can be fun at every age.

Lydia and Alfredo

I love lens flare! The sun was coming over the trees just perfectly to give this first shot a wonderful vintage feeling. Lydia and Alfredo are so kind and fun to talk to this session just flew by. It's great to see a couple so in love. I felt like this was an engagement shoot even these two are already married. Tex brought his new bandanna which was very thoughtful of him and tied all the outfits together : ) I can't wait for you guys to show me the new beach spot. I've been needing my own location scout here in Okinawa. Thanks, Stephanie, for being a great assistant and rounding up Tex when he wasn't being the star of the photo shoot.

Homemade Pinhole Camera

I love all kinds of alternative photography techniques, especially ones that distort an image a bit and give it this lovely dreamy quality. Almost like a painting. I made my very own digital pinhole camera for less than a dollar and you can too.

Andrea & David at the Sea Wall

This shoot was so much fun for so many reasons. Andrea and David are pretty much up for anything including sitting in puddles of water and parking their pink Vitz in front of the "Pink Panther" building - just because I assure them it's a good idea. All of this in spite of David really preferring to be behind the camera instead of in front of it. Thanks for being such good sports! You two look great!!

Emily

Emily has grown up here and loves the beach so we went to Araha Beach Park for the shoot. It was bright and early but the light turned out so pretty. The four above are some of my favorites. It's hard to go wrong with such a beautiful subject!

The Oshman Family

What a bunch of cute kids! I got to work with the Oshmans this morning and photograph them at their place of ministry. They are missionaries here with The Harbor. We did the shoot in their Italian wonderland coffee shop and finished everything off with an iced espresso. Delicious.

The Rathmell Family

This family has been just amazing ever since we got off the plane and they met us with a big basket of food. I'm so happy to know these people! Photographing them on "their beach" was lots of fun and only involved one clothing change due to a fully dressed child deciding to go for a swim in the ocean.

Haunted Hotel Portraits

These are a few of my favorite images from last week's photo field trip. I absolutely loved working with Ki. She is beautiful, expressive, and loves to be in front of the camera. What more can a photographer ask for?

This is a beautiful place I live in. I was lucky enough to be able to join a group of photography lovers this weekend for a photo field trip. We visited the Haunted Hotel and saw wonderful views of the ocean. Portraits taken inside the Hotel are coming soon...

Moving Around

Life has been a series of transitions lately. I said goodbye to Germany and hello to Okinawa in the span of two months with a brief landing in the US in between. I will be sharing a glimpse of my experiences in both the new and the familiar places primarily through photography with just a few words. The images will be a mix of those that people have hired me to create, some that document my travels, and a little bit of personal work. If you connect with any of my work please let me know. I am so excited to explore this beautiful island that is my new home. I am available for portrait sessions throughout the island. Please contact me to set up your personalized session or if you have any questions. More info is available on my website.
